I'm embarrassed to say I served this to my fellow Jersey Italians one day when I didn't have time to make sauce from scratch and they all raved and asked for the recipe:

I claimed "Nonna's secret"

Disgusting!

This is why I am always so nervous to cook for people. I might think that it is delicious, and my guests could leave thinking that it was the worst meal ever!

Taste it before you criticize it. I don't understand people who come on threads like this and say gross when the original question is objective and not subjective. Ahhhh dcum

Prime rib. Super easy. Most people love it. Looks impressive b/c people think it is hard to do.

Fancy: Beef Tenderloin

Not fancy winter: stew

Not fancy summer: steaks or grilled dijon chicken with corn, potato salad, and macaroni salad.

Appetizers: I go to Eden Center and get a platter of 24 spring rolls for $12. People are always impressed.

Roast chicken or braised beef short ribs, with roasted vegetables.

If we're entertaining it's generally for another family with kids. In the winter I often make spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, salad. In the summer we grill chicken or flank steak, serve w sweet potato fries and a salad.

Sour cream and provolone cheese? Who knew?! Thanks. Will try it.

I've made this a couple of times, and people do indeed enjoy it and ask for the recipe. The sour cream and provolone sound weird, I admit, but when baked the sour cream mimics a bechamel sauce, and the provolone adds a little more depth of flavor than using only mozzarella.

I like to make a pasta sauce like bolognese or amatriciana. You can make a big batch if you have a lot of people and you can freeze the leftovers, which taste even better the second time around.

In cold weather I like to do chicken pot pie.

Heavenly ham on a pillsbury buttermilk biscuit and yellow mustard.

The perfect food.

Are you the same one who just said "yuck" about something else? Can you please act like you've at least graduated from middle school?

I wouldn't worry about it. There is obviously a real a-hole troll who's only joy is to criticize other people's suggestions. So far we've gotten yuck, disgusting, and ewww. Time to grow up mean poster.
