| I don't like watery chic milk, either. We use whole milk and add whipped cream on top for good measure. |
| Oops, meant choc milk! |
Yum. I do this once in a while too. |
| My nieces didn't like my homemade cocoa, because they had never had it with milk. Sad. |
| I don't like milk and don't like drinks with lots of milk in it. I can only have lattes if they are size small bc I can't take any more milk than that. I'm not allergic, I'm not lactose intolerant, I just don't like it. I eat plenty of dairy, but milk as a beverage grosses me out. And that includes milk based beverages. |
| OP, there is no use being a snob about hot chocolate packets and then telling us you use OVALTINE. Disgusting. |
| I make mine with milk, cocoa, sugar. Will add a little vanilla or a marshmallow if available. Everyone in my family loves it |
| The point is that you still can enjoy hot chocolate if you milk intolerant or watching your calories. |
Why is Ovaltine disgusting? And she's not being a snob about the packets, she's being a snob about water. |
Thanks for your story. It still doesn't validate using water instead of milk. |
| I use almond milk and ovaltine for my son. He's doomed. |
| I prefer water. I just like it thin. If it's with milk, I'll drink it but a little to thick for my taste. I'm just weird and I accept that. |
| *too |
| The hot chocolate that comes in packets always contains powdered milk. When you check the instructions, you'll see that they only call for 6 oz. of water (3/4 cup). If you're filling up the mug to the top, you're adding way too much water. Using milk is a good solution, or just use two packets if you want a full mug of it. |
I really like almond milk. I'm allergic to real milk and I was pleasantly surprised at how good almond milk tastes. |
