Decent Disney offsite hotel for family of five

Marriott Sabal Palms. It is right across the street from Disney World! We drove our car and it was a 5 minute drive. It is on a golf course and has it's own pools and tennis courts. You can walk to the Marriott Orlando World Center next door that has a giant pool. It had a nice screened in porch and a big kitchen/living room area. Nice to come back to after a busy day in the parks.

Orange Lake Resort! Feels like you are at the beach, but it's right next to DW. We booked it for $115/night in June. The catch is that they want to sell you a timeshare or whatever. Just don't answer the phone in your room.

Stayed at the Caribe Royale for about $140 a night. It had three bedrooms and a full kitchen - was a two-story townhouse. About a 20 minute drive to the parks and they have a shuttle too.

There is also a Westgate property not too far from WDW. I had 5 different pools and the two bedroom condos were great. It is a timeshare property but we didn't go into the main office (after checking in) and nobody bugged us about a presentation.

We stayed at the Caribe Royale last winter. We had a one bedroom suite and I found the room not that nice. When DS was napping in the bedroom, the living area was very dark with no natural light. The grounds and pool were nice. This time we stayed in a 2 br at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek (I posted above) and it blew away the Caribe Royale and I think was cheaper as well.

Was going to recommend the Liki Tiki Village because the units have everything - full kitchen, sep bedrooms, w/d, but I think your kids would enjoy a larger waterslide...when researching our trip I thought the Bonnet Creek Hilton as well as the Wyndham Bonnet Creek looked great, esp. the pools.
