MS Magnet letters are starting to arrive

Nothing came today from either school (and we live close to both of them, which just goes to show how erratic mail delivery in the county is).

Friends of ours just got letters of acceptance from Eastern and Takoma. They live in Gaithersburg/North Potomac. We live in Potomac and have received nothing yet.

I don't know if this is true, but I was told that the letters are actually mailed from the central office (Rockville, I presume?), not from the individual schools. Which might explain why someone in Gaithersburg received word before you.

Interesting, I didn't know that! Though friends who live 5 minutes away got both of their letters today, so I still think it's an indication of the mail delivery around here (we often get mail meant for a neighbor).

The postmark is 20850. We live in SIlver Spring and received one letter but not the other.

We received the letter from RCMS today. Standard business size envelope but somewhat thick as there were a few pages included. In.

Got ours today. DC had test scores at or above the median for Raven and reading but several points below median for writing, so didn't get into Eastern.

Acceptances to RM & Blair came today! RM's a tiny envelope, Blair's is big.

DS got into both the programs in Roberto Clemente MS. Not all letters get posted at the same day, so most should be delivered by Wednesday or Thursday?

There are a lot of other factors considered too.

Of course not. Mail delivery across the county is not consistent. Many letters may not arrive until Monday. I believe you are informed either way.

It is the DECISIONS that get mailed for every candidate - acceptances and rejections - at the same time. However, the actual mailing happens over SEVERAL days physically. Which means that you can get your decision next week or even the week after.

According to MCPS website - you will receive the decisions by early Feb, and can appeal by Feb 21st. So, you will hear from them before Feb 15th. And obviously before Feb 21st.
