I have two friends whose parents got divorced in their adulthood. It messed them up. They feel lied to and guilty that their parents lived unhappily for them.

I must admit, I completely agree. Most children come out scarred for life.

Oh for crying out loud. Stop projecting. People get divorced, people fall in love again, some people chose to stay single. I know more than one person who is closer to their step parent than the actual biological parent. I also know some who went through hell with theirs. There is no one size fits all. I'm a single mom and dating is not for me right now. 2 or 3 years down the road maybe. Who knows. I certainly don't judge those who date.
