| My DH goes straight to work and when I do it, I have to drive 2 other kids to schools with no bus. |
| I work from home and usually drive to the bus in the afternoons to eek out every minute of work that I can. |
| To annoy people like you. |
I'm not OP but cars idling at the bus stop unnecessarily is terrible for the environment & often causes extra traffic congestion in neighborhoods during people's morning commutes. |
For us it's a 5 minute drive to school, or a 45 minute bus ride (who designs those routes) so we drop them off and get 40 minutes extra sleep. |
Yup. If she rides the bus, my kid has to get up at 5:45 to be at the bus stop at 6:30. If I drive her, she can sleep until 6:20. I drop her off just after 7 and then head to work. |
I never said it annoyed me (it doesn't), I was just wondering why. I drive my kid to school; for the same reason another pp mentioned, it's like a 30 minute bus ride to get to the school that's less than a mile away. We walk on occasion if the weather is good and ds is ready on time. |
That makes sense but I'm pretty sure the OP was referring to parents driving their kids a few blocks to the bus stop, not to parents driving their kids all the way to school. The time advantage isn't really applicable to these situations. |

| A few moms I know do it because they have infants that bring with them in the car. |
| It would be better not to idle the car. |
Then plan your commute accordingly. |
| Im sorry, I only participate in recreational walking. If I have to go somewhere to get something done I drive, that includes the bus stop. |
Your neighbors must love you. As, I'm sure, does the EPA! Such selfishness you are teaching your snowflakes. |
Please tell me you're joking... |
