Lands End Bathing suit - yay or nay?

I don't think it's the suit. It's the body that's in it.

The suits are fine

I have a similar suit from Lands End that I wore last year. I received many compliments and it was super comfortable. Even my super catty "fashionista" sister-in-law said it was cute. I plan to wear it again this year. That being said, i'm 37, I have skinny arms and legs, but my middle is thick and large. The stripes hide that fact and the dress covers my lumpy butt.

I really like this one. And I want to dissuade you from a one-piece - it's a PITA to go to the bathroom in a one-piece while wet. Blech.

I'm also a fan of the swim minis, mainly because I don't have to worry about my bikini line being good to go on a moment's notice when we run to the pool for an evening.

The striped one doesn't seem that matronly to me. I'd go for whatever makes you feel comfortable. Also, those empire-waisted swimdresses are the bomb when you're pregnant. Try Modcloth.com--they have a lot of cute retro-style suits, which often give you a little more coverage and support but are still cute. Good luck!

My husband once told me that skirted suits call attention to what you're trying to hide and I think he was right. Lands end suits are very well made though.

No way.

In response to someone's spanx suit suggestion ... Don't do it! I've had spanx and miracle suit and while they really do look great they are incredibly uncomfortable for a day of chasing little ones in the humidity. I second LANs end separates or athleta. The latter has tall, bra size tops that might work if you need more support. Better selection online than in Tyson's.

In general, unless you are really thin, swim skirts just look very matronly.

I just don't get the point of a swimdress. Why? I'd rather just choose a flattering swimsuit and cover up dress. Wear the dress when out of the water. Wear a suit in the water. Done.

OP, I have that swim mini in black and I am a very curvy size 10. I like it a lot - it just looks like a cute dress except you can get it wet. I got it to cover my thighs. If you don't need thigh coverage I'd go for a tummy-control one piece or tankini. And if your chest is very big, the halter will not offer much support.

Are you 70???

Np here. I have one and love it. It's lasted me through three kids and still looks great. Perfect for a beach dress and like a PP said, I can run, bend, play and even nurse easily in it (just pulls down). OP, go for it!

pp again. The only downside is yes, difficult to go to bathroom in with all the fabric ESP when wet. I usually do the pull crotch to the side bit rather than taking the whole thing off. Or, hey, it's the ocean... Right?
