Four year old doesn't know lower-case letters

This town is insane. Your child is 4!!!!!!!!!!! Of course is it fine that he does not know lowercase letters.

My son will be four in two months and only knows about half the alphabet in upper case and you know what, it is fine. Children come into school at all levels and learn what they need to know.

DS was an early reader. He could identify upper case at age 3, lower case at age 4. But DD is 4 now and doesn't have the lower case down yet, nor can she read yet...but she can outdraw her big brother. And even though DS knows both cases, his handwriting needs a lot of work.

They all learn at different rates and each have their own strengths/weaknesses.

OP here, and believe me, I understand were you're coming from. I only wondered because I have a very small frame of reference and literally had no idea what was typical. I'm relieved to know that it's covered in pre-k and kindergarten.
