Not the PP you are addressing, and not a GDS parent either, so I cannot say anything about homework load. However, if the proof is in the pudding, check out their impressive NMSF stats.

They are far and away the school for smart kids these days. Look at their college acceptances! If not the most rigorous, they are producing the kids highly selective colleges want to have.

Yes, they have a virtual monopoly on all of the smart kids. Just ask them.

The 18 kids from SFS already admitted to HYP, Stanford and MIT might not agree with you.

And the very impressive highly selective university and college admissions. GDS seems to have perfected the secret sauce.

Sidwell, GDS, STA/NCS, Maret and Holton are so similar in terms of academic rigor and college acceptances that really should be choosing among them based on other factors, i.e. "fit" for location, social atmosphere, specific sports or arts programs, single sex vs coed. It is just not useful to focus on gradations of academic strength among these schools. In any given year, the % of NMSFs or kids going to HYPS and other top schools is going to fluctuate at each school, but all are very good, and the point is to be around sufficient other academically-motivated and talented kids particularly in high school so that the course offerings and peer-stimulation will be optimal for even the most academically-talented kid.

Yes it depends on how many legacies and siblings are in a class. They lower the average of the kids that were accepted because they truly should be there.

Speak for yourself. My younger sibling kid is smarter than big sister, so I'm guessing younger sib will raise the average.
