| There are Spibelts with two pouches. Also, look for running short/capris/pants with that zipper pocket in the back. |
|
My running shirt (technically it's a biking shirt though) has a zipper on the lower back. It's only my house key so no juggling or poking.
My shorts also have a small pocket in the lining. |

My Spibelt has two compartments.

| If you use an arm/wrist cuff or pocket that ties to your laces, can you share a link to something you would recommend? |
| I leave the door unlocked. So far, so good. |

I have a water bottle with a hand-holster. The holster has a zippered pocket. I just carry either my car key, my house key or my gym ID in there, depending on where I'm leaving from.
The key pouches you tie onto your shoelaces are great, too. I used to have a couple of those but kept losing them. There are also wristbands with zippered pockets - they're fleece - good for everything except really hot weather. I like those for money or credit cards. |
| FYI - you could also use the pocket of running shorts, and safety-pin the key inside the pocket, to be safer. |
Great idea. Maybe if you have a pair of shoes just for running, you can leave it in the shoelace itself. Maybe the shoe companies should make shoes with a small zippered pocket. I think that would be a great idea. |

We can open our garage door (attached to our house) with a code, so I just go through my garage door when I am running in my local neighborhood.
If I am driving somewhere to go on a run, like for a race or on a trail, and need somewhere to put my car key, I wear this belt. http://www.fitletic.com/ultimate-ii-running-belt.html Generally, when I am running away from home, it is a longer (10+ miles) run, so I need the belt anyway to hold Gu, water, etc. |

" I put my house key in an open pocket, in the back of my leggings. At some point the keys fell out - and lost. Total pain in the ass"
So, Keys lost from back of leggings, followed by pain in the ass.. and nobody else found this funny? |
| I just tie the key with the waist string of my running shorts, and keep it tucked in. |
| You can change your locks so you can enter with a key code. Super convenient. Not too big of a deal to install. |
Someone already thought of it, decades ago! Kangaroos! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KangaRoos

| I lace it into my shoelace in a way such that even if my shoelaces were untied it wouldn't come out. On long runs I carry water on one of those hip (ok, fanny) packs and keep keys in there. |
Someone gave me this Nike Running Shoe Wallet: http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/products/NIU1063/nike-running-shoe-wallet/ I've never used it because I just tie my house key onto the shoelaces and triple knot, but I like the idea. FWIW, all runners should consider getting a runner ID. You can get one online for just a few bucks and keep it laced onto one of your shoes or wear as a bracelet. Mine is dog-tag style, about the size of a quarter. These can really be a lifesaver. Remember the runner who was hit by a bus downtown and her family wasn't located for days because she had no ID? Nightmare. |
