Why is my DS very different at school vs at home?

OP here. I don't think asking my DS one time "I wonder why you are so different at school versus at home" or "I wish I knew why you are so quiet around your friends so I can help you" are forceful to him. Especially when we were talking about our day, what we did, the people we met, the highlights of our day, etc.
I was only expecting a simple answer "My friends are always loud" or "(name) is mean." After all, his classmates always talked about their families and friends during playdate.

I agree. What kind of therapies is your child getting at school and privately?
