Would you be annoyed about this or is it not a big deal?

OP here. I think some of you misunderstood my annoyance. I'm not annoyed they didn't invite my parents. Frankly, I really didn't need another family event involving parents AND in-laws after Thanksgiving. I also agree it's my in-laws house, they can invite who they want. I'm annoyed that it seems like MIL made up an excuse to me because she didn't want to invite my parents. If she hadn't said anything about it being just for the "young people" I would never have cared.

And yes, 8:45, you are correct. I'm definitely more annoyed because the person they did invite is the one person who has always been nasty to me.

For the record, I have no intention of saying anything to DH or in-laws. I know it seems like I'm over reacting but if you can't complain about the stupid little annoying thing your MIL did to random strangers on an anonymous internet forum then where can you complain?
