1st grade question

She obviously just wants anonymous people to tell her how smart her kid is. What a bore.

In the fall they don't DRA test above end of 1st grade level in our FCPS. The teacher told me it was so the school could show progress during the year.

Not true. In kindergarten, the highest they will test is the end of first grade. In first grade, the highest they will test is the end of second grade. Once you pass a level, there is no going back. If your child passed the DRA level through first grade while in kindergarten, your child could test through the end of second grade in first grade.

This is true at DC's school as well.

The OP said she was new to FCPS. Cut her some slack.

She may be new, but if she's on these boards, particularly the AAP one, and telling her neighbor about her kid's pull outs, I have to believe she knows.

Okay.....you win!!!! Feel better, now?

Sorry but I said our Fcps and I stand by that. Heard it straight from the teachers mouth. In the spring she tested further- but they needed to show progress thru the year and could only test so far during 1st
