I'm surprised that you don't know that there are ebola discussions in several forums other than the health forum, including this forum:

I see my last post was deleted. I am surpized that this tread wasn't locked or moved to the Health forum as so many others have been. Oh, well, it's your website and your rules, however capricious they appear
likely this post won't last long either before it is removed

Why are trying to get a thread about a health concern at a DCPS school, shut down? What are you afraid of?
And sure- capricious is a great word. If by capricious you mean people can talk about things concerning DCPS on a forum.
You cluster folks have more than a few screws loose.

Lol, this isn't about the 'cluster'. It's about how this thread is still here when large numbers of Ebola threads were moved to health, even threads about which charities were doing the most to help the epidemic, or local possible cases at hospitals. A similar thread about enterovirus in a local school was also moved to health...that's why I say capricious. I understand that health concerns come into play, but when contagion is a risk, issues like this include public health (is the structure in place to contain this), constitutional discussions (can you quarantine someone against their will), politics (who's in charge), and off-topic issues (would you change your interaction with people you consider at risk of exposure)...that's all

with all that aid, I hope the DOH is stepping in and doing everything needed; I hope a nurse will be taking temps daily at school and tracking kids who are out sick

Parents read this thread to know what's going on in their school. With that said, that's why the dang post is here so parents actually know about it. So yeah, the thread belongs here.

I'm a Peabody parent. A letter went home yesterday and the principal did a robo call as well. The form of meningitis that is on campus is not the deadly version. Patients usually get better on their own with rest. My baby is in PK-3.

The principal said that a deep cleaning would be done last night.

There was no deep cleaning. The principal has lied to the press and to the Peabody parents.

This is a DCPS problem. TWO teachers have been hospitalized because of this enterovirus.

This is a serious accusation. How do you know this? Any support for this claim?

^^^ ahh, the cluster PTA stiles again!! I missed you all!

Check your inflammatory statements at the door, people. We parents have been AT the school and HAVE SEEN the deep cleaning with our own eyes.

I'm not a Cluster parent and frankly I'm a little wary of the administration, but that is a serious accusation and seems unlikely.

FOIA the work order to the vendor. If one says it's just the normal janitors who did the "deep cleaning" and thus there is no work order to a vendor, I don't think that the daily janitors are trained in that unless DOH supervised.

Perhaps a parent can ask the principal to identify the cleaning service which came in last night during tonight's PTA meeting.

scuttlebutt is that there is a 3rd teacher sick, although not yet confirmed to have meningitis.
