| +2 Thank you! |
| But there really isn't a need when most of you send your kids to DC public schools. |
Seeing as there are over 125000 kids enrolled in PGCPS and only 83000 or so enrolled in DC publics and charters, it seems like "most" of us are not actually sending our kids to DC public schools and might in fact "need" a forum even more that DC public schools need their own forum. And thanks for illustrating exactly why people asked for a PG forum, Snarky McJudgypants. |
| I also live in PG county and find this forum very useful. Thanks! |
| I live in PG and have been using the info on this forum to assist with researching some of the good school options here. Good options do exist even if the entire system is labelled awful. This forum helps us wade through the high performing neighborhood schools, the magnet/charter/immersion options and the lottery process. There is also some discussion about the private schools in the county which also get lost in the larger discussion about private schools which is primarily focused on DC private schools. This forum is how I learned about the new immersion programs that started this year. |
| I'm a long-time PG county resident (well over 20 years) and even though my kids are only pre-schoolers, I can say that my friends, neighbors and co-workers who have school-age children do not send their children to DC public schools. In fact, I don't know any PG county residents who sends their kids to DC schools. I'm sure that there are many, but not in my neck of the woods (northern PG county). The only friends that I know that send their kids to DC schools actually live in the district. |

I love PGC and the forum. I'll try to be more responsive to threads. My kids all went to PGC schools and had excellent experiences.
Thanks Jeff! |
Another vote to keep it. Helped me find a resource. That added value to me. |
