Keep or toss? Denim pencil skirt.

I think it can look great. Sorry for the typo.

will look adorable.
Do not wear with tall boots- will look dated.

Booties and a pencil skirt are a horrible look for anyone that doesn't have very long lean legs. They visually shorten your legs and widen your calf. So yes, if you want to look stumpy, go for it.

Newsflash: tall boots are still in, along with booties. Pick up a copy of vogue.

This is OP - sounds like folks are divided on the issue. I think I'll keep it for awhile and think about it.

To the PP who said no booties, I am 6 feet tall and a runner - booties might just work for me, though I usually err on the side of tall boots.

Give it to charity. Don't keep old styles around in your closet, it will just make you look dated.

Keep it. It's the kind of thing that might not be in right now, but it will come back around.

ummmm - do you like it? if you do, keep it. if you don't, give it away.

lots of people still wear denim skirts. people who aren't fundies, even.

Keep. It's a classic look that can pretty much always be worn as long as it looks updated with current fashion. I have one in my closet from years ago and still pull it out when the mood strikes. Recently I wore it with a chambray shirt for a currently trending denim on denim look.

I don't wear it often but it's always a keeper because it's timeless.

Depends.
I have one from j.crew that is a very dark wash with a zipper up the back, which is an awesome feature (takes away bulk from your middle -- i find that buttons on denim skirts make my stomach look like it is protruding more.) I don't think mine reads as denim necessarily.

It's dicey, but I would say keep it. Just don't wear it with, like, a bulky sweatshirt or t-shirt and you won't look like a fundy.

Denim skirts are back. J Crew has two - here's a quilted one (another trend): https://www.jcrew.com/womens_category/denim/Skirts/PRD~B0934/B0934.jsp?N=21+17+10035&Nbrd=J&Nloc=en_US&Nrpp=48&Npge=1&Nsrt=3&isSaleItem=true&color_name=FALL%20WASH&isFromSale=true&isNewSearch=true&hash=row0.

Think you'll be OK as long as the style of your skirt is not dated. Simple pencil is fine.

God, you'd look good in anything. Ignore the haters (and I fully own my own jealousy). Enjoy!

Keep it.

I was thumbing through some current women's magazines recently + in the Fashion and Beauty sections there were many fashion models wearing them for Fall '14.

Definitely not outdated at all.

OP, I'm the same (5'11" and a runner size 6/8). I wear mine a lot time. It's a dark wash and I usually wear it with booties or flats for a more casual look and a cute top.

This. Denim pencil skirts are in. Check Glamour or InStyle and I saw it on themomedit.com.
