*sigh* we are moving from san francisco and even though it's not new york, i really appreciate people who dress like individuals! was hoping there was some area like this...

I'm from Berkeley. This doesn't exist here.

I'm from DC and even I'll admit that it's just not that kind of town. Oh well.

Same. But I like it. I just put on my uniform everyday.

May it be your biggest issue. Seriously, clothes is just one way to express your individuality.

Oh, cmon - there are people who are fun to look at here. U Street has some cool kids, the teenagers in Columbia Heights who hang around outside the Five Guys look awesome.

If you like fancier fashion, you can get yourself to restaurant openings and that sort of thing.

D.C. fashion is definitely getting better than it was when I got here 8 years ago. Or else I've acclimated and my standards are lower now. Wait a second...

U St used to have a different vibe, but last time I was there it was a bunch of girls in sundresses and heels (DC9 excluded). When did U St. become Adams Morgan?

I think it still depends on the night. If you go during the week, there's fewer girls in sundresses and heels. I think - I dunno. I don't go out as much as I used to, and don't live nearby anymore, so it is possible I am still working on old info. I'm still shocked when I walk around 14th street and see what a mall it's become.
