| This thread is so old...but I have to say. I'm 13 and I stayed for two weeks this summer. It was the best experience of my life. My counselors and the girls in my cabin were like family to me, all the activities were like family to me, and I never wanted to leave. Next year I'm staying for four weeks (: |
| Thanks for posting. My kids are there now. I am picking up tomorrow. I hope they are as happy as you! |
I didn't mean to say the activities were like family to me. That doesn't make any sense lol. I meant to say they were really fun or something like that...whatever
|
| Well..I picked my kids up and they were happy but said they would prefer to stay for only 1 week next time (they were there for 2 weeks). Apparently nothing really happens on the weekends aside from watching departing kids live and seeing new campers come. The second week there were many repeated activities and instructions for the new campers. Based on that I will likely look for a camp with 2 week sessions for next summer. Not a bad review at all but just know it is designed around a one week stay..though some kids do stay longer...only 4 out of 14 in DC cabing stayed for more then 1 week. |
This is a really helpful post. Thanks for taking the time to write it. |
| I am going to Camp hidden Meadows this summer. Is it easy to make friends there. |
| Camp Twin Creeks is a good two week camp. |
| We're sending DS there for his third year. It's a great camp, low-key, run by good people. |
| My 13 years old son is rite now at camp, he went last year and love it. It is a wonderful place for kids to spend the summer. |
| Bumping this... Does anyone else who had kids go more than one week have thoughts on the "every week is kinda the same" feeling? |
| Yes - heard that from our kids who have only gone for 1 week stints. They heard it from the 2+ week kids. |
| My son thought it was kind of boring. |
Thx! |
Ho old was he when he went? Was it his first time there? |
| I am going to camp hidden meadows and was wondering what the cabins are like. |
