Are parent teacher conferences all on one day?

OP here. I also scheduled a 4 day weekend that weekend as well. I did not expect the school calendar to change after the final one came out. Our school's calendar had January 29 as a student holiday up until last week. Now it says 2 hour early release.

DH makes his schedule 6 months in advance for call and holiday requests so I like to have things booked. Otherwise, he starts booking work appointments. Only if it is booked will he block out that time. I know that is our family schedule problem.

Just send a nice note to your child's teacher explaining you will be away. Chances are the K teacher will be willing to schedule a conference before or after school sometime in the weeks around the end of the quarter. People snap on these boards ignore them.

There are no official conference days anymore. How schools and teachers handle that is up to them. However, teachers must grant requests from parents for a conference. Even before this change, some parents needed an alternative day for whatever reasons.
