S/O When did the Cosby Show jump the shark?

IRL Vanessa hooked up with Ron from A Different World, Denise did some sex movie scenes when she was about 18 and hooked up with some fine men and Olivia came out!

I hated the Olivia centered episodes, but loooved the Pam episodes! And if you watched A Different World too, it was great because then her best friend Charmagne went to Hillman.

But I mostly loved Pam because she came from a lower economic background and the Huxtables lifestyle was very different for her. It took her some time to adjust. I also liked how they showed the details of her relationships. With the Huxtables' kids they often glossed over the serious/intimate details. Except for when Theo was living with Justine.

She and her husband were at ComicCon this summer promoting some of their work. She's aged really well

Even then, the show hardly implied they were having sex. I know it was the 80s but sheesh

Cousin Pam. Think she was the dad's cousin.

Vanessa didn't ever get married. She was engaged to the maintenance man at her college and he was a great guy. They decided to just "be friends". In the last episode it is kind of obvious that they are drifting back towards the romantic side of their relationship.

OOOKKKKAAAY...now I'm starting to remember. I do remember the relationship with the maintenance man and the stilted reaction from Dr. and Mrs. H.

I'm totally going to go find some Cosby on demand right now!

I don't know who the heck Pam was but I remember Charmagne.

Tell us more about this Pam person.

I think it started to go downhill when they focused more and more time on the older married sister and her husband. They were so boring beyond a minor supporting role. Focusing episodes on them was just blah.

Pudding pops poster, I love you.

Here's the intro from one of the seasons with Pam. Fast forward to :39, she's the one dressed like a female LL Cool J.

I also liked Charmaine. Anyone remember her boyfriend Lance (or as she would say Laaance)?

Cousin Pam was the end.... Olivia certainly didn't help things. Couldn't stand that kid.

I think I stopped watching when it focused too much on Olivia. She was Super annoying and no match for Rudy when Rudy had that role. I do remember Pam and her street smart ways, but I don't remember her friends. So I must have stopped prior to the focus shifting to Pam's friends.

This thread makes me remember just one thing: Rudy, at the bottom of the stairs, shouting, "bAY-bAYYY --- bAY-bAYYY"

I was about eight or nine when Pam came along. I remember all of my friends talking about how the show sucked now, so we started watching The Simpsons which had been switched to Thursdays to compete with TCS. I do remember running in the house early to watch the last episode.
