I didn't know about the oldest one. She must be considered an old maid by now. Did the one who just got married go to school to become a midwife? I must have missed that part. I am shocked that they let her go to school.

These two seem like kids playing house. The man is supposed to be the head of the family according to their beliefs. How can Ben fulfill that role at this point in his life?

Maybe this is Jim Bob's way of making sure he maintains overall control. Choose a husband (that's what he does) who can't really be a husband. He will need a lot of "guidance".... and Jim Bob will be right there.

So do these kids get money from doing the show, it can't just all go to the parents. Maybe the daughters choose to stay because they are paid for doing the show.

The Duggar daughters involved in midwifery are taking some kind of correspondence course plus apprenticing with a local CPM. I don't know if that's enough to eventually be able to qualify as CPMs, but becoming a CNM would definitely require a lot more study that I doubt the parents would allow.

I meant.. this kid doesn't have the first clue, can't support his wife very well etc. So there will be Daddy dearest, guiding the young grasshopper and thereby still maintaining some control over his daughter's life.

According to People he works and attends college. They want to get married and start a family. So what. Better than half the people out there that are on drugs and booze, lie, cheat, and steal.
