Family of 3
$300 - 400 per month, but we try very hard to stay closer to the $300 range.

Toiletries, cleaning products and paper goods, it's probably more like $350 - $450 per month.

I'm the PP with cats. I agree that they're not people, but since I buy their food and litter at the grocery store, it contributes to the overall bill. Thanks for the snark, though.

Is this only food? A lot of the responses surprised me on how low the amounts are. I thought my budget was too low.

Grocery (shoppers) - around $400 (covers breakfast 7 days a week, fruits, veggies, snacks, milk and Lunch and dinners for weekend. other days kids eat at GMs)
around $300 for (target) household stuff, misc things for kids or us.

Family of 4- K and preschool

$500 a month groceries, not including paper products, household cleaners, etc.
Trader Joes, ethnic markets for fresh produce and meats (way cheaper), Costco.

I just ran the numbers. $300 a month for the first 7 months of the year. Family of 3. We eat out about once a week. We pack lunches. We shop at Trader Joes, Aldi, Costco, and Target. I was surprised it wasn't higher but we track it all...
