Someone else recommended this to me too, but it's not in netflix or amazon prime as far as I can tell. Did I somehow miss it?

Don't want to give any spoilers but I hated the ending.

Is there a way you can say what you hated about it without giving it away to others? Because I loved the ending and can't imagine it any better.

trite in my mind.

I say it on Amazon, but not Prime. You'd have to pay for the series.

It was like finding out your cool interesting college friends just became over-weight, middle-managers with two kids & a dog. The ending didn't need to be tied up so neatly & tightly, I'd like the idea that maybe they could start the series again.

Exactly, PP! But maybe link your post to website feedback to delete since this thread was initially about Top of the Lake and there aren't any spoiler warnings. TIA.

Broadchurch! Loved it.

I love mysteries. Some of my favorites:

True Detective
Broad church
Ripper Street
Whitechapel
Endeavor
Sherlock

PBS is showing "Death Comes to Pemberly" soon.

Top of the Lake was atmospheric and a bit strange, but if you have the patience, it's a good one.

Okay, on third episode, first looked interesting, now....not sure about it. Keep thinking the police in New Zealand TV land are not like Law & Order cops.

I love Inspector Lynley and Miss Fisher if you like mysteries.

Also if you like dark, this was a good thread of suggestions:

OMG!!!! I've watched TOTL and am currently watching The Bridge and had no idea that was Johno! Holy cow. What a remarkable actor. Love both these shows. Also, "Broadchurch" when it was out. Clearly, I like the darker stories.

I just finished it today and I found myself unexpectedly bawling at the end, although I'm pregnant so that may have had something to do with it. I was surprised that they went so far into the future for the resolution but at the same time really liked the ending also.

Looks like Top of the Lake is not available on Netflix now. Is that correct?

Years ago. Remember liking it and wishing they’d do a new season with EM.
