It's interesting. My butt always shows in anything shorter than 3 inch and I only have size 2 butt. I guess it's a matter of built. I agree with you, shorter women definitely need shorter inseam. |

Skinny jeans? Sure why not.
Short shorts? Is said new mom a recent cast member of a very popular MTV show? |
PP here. I have a very small and flat butt. Used to be much nicer but it went away after pregnancy. WTF. |

The jeans are fine.
I haven't worn short-shorts since I was in my early twenties. |
What is your definition of short shorts? Ones that show your bottom? Or just anything shorter than 3"? Not op - I'm short.. barely 5' tall and petite, and I'm actually an "old" mom.. 44. First of all, it's hard to find shorts that fit me in the women's section. And because I'm short, anything longer than a 3" length starts to make me look even shorter. Trying to find 3" length shorts that feel comfortable is a huge task for me. So, I shop in the Jr's sections where I can find shorts that fit me, don't look funny on me, and feel comfortable, and these are mostly 2 to 3" length shorts. I also don't have a lot of money to spend on really nice clothes. So to answer your question, no, I'm not on MTV, and I hope I've educated you a bit regarding why some "old" women wear short shorts. |
Well, then what you are wearing are not short shorts, are they? They are shorts with an inseam proportional to your body size and leg length. You know what short shorts are and you are just choosing to be difficult. |

Skinny jeans are fine. But why would you want to wear short shorts?
Are you selling something? |
I don't know what everyone's definition of short shorts are. That's why I asked, not because I was trying to be difficult. For some people, 2" is short shorts. |
|
My 5" inseam shorts read pretty short on me, but I wear pants in a 36" inseam, so it's really all about proportion. (And coverage. Be comfortable, keep the ladybusiness under wraps.)
I'm 38 years old, a mom, a size 16, and I wear aforesaid short shorts, skinny jeans, bootcut jeans, miniskirts, clingy maxi dresses--in short, whatever I damn well please.

I have no issues with either, but ,,,
with the short shorts (and this is me personally, with my kids) I'd be concerned about modesty! I have two very active kids and find that I"m constantly bending over, sitting crossled, etc. truly short shorts don't cover as well as I'd like!

Jeans yes, shorts no.
Agree about the humblebrag. |
|
Wear them if you want.
I don't wear brief clothing in public areas where I have to sit, though. It just feels dirty to know other (possibly briefly) people have sat there and sweated before me. |
| skinny jeans, sure. short shorts are a little iffy for me. |
