Uh, it became a delicacy in the 1950s, grandpa.

Nope.

This is what the lobstermen from Acadia tell about lobster.

Google it, linked with Rockefellers and Acadia.

that's just after the Rockefellers were hanging out in Maine. We have a house in Maine. Lobster in Maine is different. It's fresh there.

Red lobster is gross

My husband lived a sheltered existence with immigrant parents. When he was 10 or so, they went on a vacation to Florida, where he had the most amazing seafood he had ever tasted, at a quaint family joint called "Red lobster". He was raving about it for years before he realized it was a nationwide chain. Lolz.

We live in flyover country and every year the idiots vote Red Lobster "Best Seafood" in our newspaper's Best of City issue. Usually the editorial staff lists their pick next to it.

I actually tracked down a recipe for them using bisquick. Not the same!!

They are good, but have you ever seen how many calories and sodium are in just one of them?

Friday was payday for lots of people. I know lots of DCUMers don't need to wait until payday to go out for a "nice" meal but lots of people base their spending on pay days.

"Whether they are steamed at a dockside lobster pound in Maine, or in your kitchen, or in an overpriced, hoity toity fine restaurant or in blue collar Red Lobster, lobster tastes exactly the same."

No it is not. Fresh lobster in Maine is amazing. Lobster down here is basically just a butter conveyer.

Do you also have scented candles and potpourri in your homes?

Ate there for lunch a couple years ago and thought it was terrible. Biscuits were gross, salad was the most boring thing ever, and the main entree was ok. I prefer Olive Garden I guess.

Actually, that is not true. A lobster fisherman in Maine told me that as long as a lobster is kept alive, it is the same quality if you order it in a restaurant in DC or in Maine. Obviously that is not the case with other seafood but lobster is different because it is cooked alive.

Totally wrong. It is the same lobster.

My husband wanted to go the other day. I said I can save us $60 and serve salt for dinner at home. I'm not above chains, I will happily gorge myself at Red Robin, but Red Lobster is no.
