Buffets will make you feel bloated so you don't eat as much and dont cut into the profit margin.
Did you drink any water? |
^^Did not eat much - certainly no more than I usually do. Drank some water again like I usually do.
I think it is the cooking medium, some spice/s or perhaps the richness of the food even though I try and avoid the more creamy items. I have heard that some Indian restaurants use MSG and/or baking soda which may contribute to this feeling of bloating - no idea if this is true. I don't have the same feeling when I eat almost any other ethnic cuisine with the possible exception of Mexican but that is only on occasion. |
I think it's all the dairy that features prominently at Indian restaurants. Homemade Indian food is not that heavy. Most Indian families don't eat cream laden sauces on a daily basis. |
I'm married to an Indian so eat lots and lots of Indian food, both homemade and out. I find the rice really bloats me, and adds empty calories, so I've stopped eating it. I don't feel nearly as full and bloated anymore after eating Indian food.
I try to avoid the naans and rotis as well. Maybe only a little onion kulcha, which I can't resist! |
