Yeah, you are screwed. You can actually change the time on google maps so you can see your screwy commute. In the old google maps, find where is says "live traffic" at the bottom left of the map, and hit "change."
I can't laugh. My husband commutes from PG county to past Chantilly everyday. |
| I did that exact commute for years and experimented with every route possible. There is no easy way. If you go White' s Ferry or Point of Rocks it was a predictable 90 minutes. I only did that if I knew ahead of time that there were issues at the Legion Bridge. Otherwise I would just take 495 to the access or toll road. GEORGETOWN Pike is another option but very pokey too. All options suck, especially now that the hot lane has caused a traffic disaster coming into Maryland. |
Mornings will be 20-30 mins, late afternoon will be 40-50 mins. |
No way. I commuted Tysons to Sterling and it was 45 minutes and sometimes over an hour in the evening. 20 minutes might be if you never hit a single light AND you're going 70mph... which never happens. |

Fairfax to Silver Spring here, 495 pretty much all the way. When I commuted during "normal" rush hours, it could be two hours easy.
Any way you can switch your schedule? I start at 7 now and can pretty much count on a 45-minute commute. |
