Funny how the church says nothing about deadbeat dads.... Oh right, it's MISOGYNY, not Misandry.

Actually, our priest's homily on Father's Day WAS about deadbeat fathers. "what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone." Matthew 7:9.

One homily by one priest doesn't undo the anti-birth control message that they are spreading across the world.

LOL!

I'm sorry, OP. Just let it be.

You are an adult. Keep some good boundaries btw you and your mom.

So she didn't say things like this when you were younger, but you didn't get along then, either? Or have her comments just gotten more extreme in recent years?

Either way, you have my sympathy, OP. Stop exchanging anything but surface pleasantries with her. If she's anything like my mother, she won't be able to handle even common politeness, but at least give that a try to see if you can maintain your connection with her.

Well, without the IUD you'd most likely be getting an abortion at some point, so this seems like the lesser of two "evils". Something tells me that logic isn't going to work on her though...

Sorry OP. I'd go with what others said and stop discussing your family planning with her. Or really anything that personal. She can't handle it, clearly.
