If you are noticing cellulite, dropping a few pounds really helps hide the appearance.

not OP, but this is not necessarily true. I've had cellulite on the back of my thighs since I was a 17 year old, 110 pound competitive cheerleader.

Me too. OP, I'm in the same boat as you. I am so self-conscious and I have horrible dented thighs - a mix of terrible cellulite that developed as a skinny teenager and bad dents left behind after saddlebag lipo in my early 20s. There is nothing I love more than water sports, and my toddler loves the water, but I mince around in my cover up and practically walk backwards out of the pool I'm so humiliated. I would pay anything to fix it but I've tried everything and there's nothing out there. I literally cry about it.

This is very sad. I promise you, ladies, that no one cares about your cellulite but you. Please try not to waste energy on this.

The best part about getting older is not caring one bit about what people think of you. This is a gift. Embrace it. If someone is judging you because you have cellulite, do you really care what they think? I could look a WHOLE lot better if I 1) didn't work FT and 2) had a nanny so I could work out every day. But I live in reality. Enjoy your time with your kids.

They have women's board shorts that are long, down to the knees, if those make you more comfortable but as others said, try to not waste energy on it, no one else cares how you look at the pool.

I agree with everyone. No one cares about your cellulite. I will pay more attention to the fact that you are a fun mom playing with your kids.

I also agree with the fact that even skinny people have cellulite...myself included. Now that I am older, I don't care what people think of what I look like. I am happily married, have a great dd, and a wonderful career. I feel lucky.

You have to get over it. There are very few people who loom good in a swimsuit. 90% of women have cellulite. I promise that NO ONE cares but you. Get in the water and have fun!

I'm overweight and I'm sure I don't look that great in a swimsuit, but you know what? I really don't care. It's not going to stop me from putting on a swimsuit and playing with the kids in the pool. No one cares how I look, and so what if they do? They'll get over it.

Thank you for this link. I was looking for it and am glad someone else posted it.

OP, I do NOT have a great body. Nice shoulders and chest, thighs aren't anything to brag about. I've lost about 15 lbs. lately, but could stand to lose a bit more.

Nevertheless, I put on my swimsuit and get in the water. Promise you no one cares what you look like. Even (many) thin women are self-conscious about how they look in a swimsuit.

I also wear a rash guard if I'm in the sun...offering even more cover-up for myself. Good luck! I also like the Lands End swimsuits.

I saw someone at the babies pool wearing a swimming skirt. I actually thought it's a really cute summery skirt and approached her to compliment her and she told me it's a swimming skirt! It was mid thigh length made from swimming suits material, light blue with small flowers. She bought it at a local store, the name will not help you unfortunately because I live in NJ.

My vent is the dreaded "mother's apron". After a c-section and a large baby, I have enough extra skin to make a new baby. I have the landsend tummy control one-piece, but damn that thing is hard to put on and take off. I'm getting the bottoms for the tummy control to see if that is easier to get on/off. Anyone tried it?

I actually have more visible cellulite when I'm a lower weight. Regardless, I've just decided to embrace what I look like. One thing that drives me nuts, though, is that one pieces are not an option for me- I'm a small on top and medium on bottom. I know I could do a ranking, but I just am not wild about that look. So, I just try to remember to suck in a little.

I bought an athletic two-piece suit from Athleta, along with a matching pair of boy shorts - they hit a couple of inches down my thighs and I can wear them in the water with my daughter. The athletic suits (meant for swimmers and triathletes, not just sunbathers) are good for people with kids, too - they stand up to kids pulling on your suit.

I'm a runner, and in good shape, and I have cellulite on my legs. I also have veins that are becoming more prominent. I also have weird tan lines and sometimes I forget to shave that one patch of ankle, and I have scars in weird places because I'm stupid and fall down a lot when I run. I don't give a crap. Nobody is paying me to wear a bikini in a magazine, so who cares what I look like in my bathing suit? nobody.

Slip some Nike running shorts over the bottom of the suit. They're lined and dry out fast.
