| Back in the 80s we all thought Rick Astley was black, judging by his voice. |
| this song is so f'ing stupid. Some random guy walks up to your house and asks you if he can marry your daughter. What the f do you expect them to say? Oh yes please, take her away, you look like a responsible guy with your leather jacket and ridiculous hair. Hey, here's my life savings use it for the wedding. Why don't you go ahead and f..k my wife too. I wouldn't want to be rude.? |
|
Maybe, but I can't recall a specific instance of it.
But I do remember back in the olden days when Can't Touch This came out I envisioned MC Hammer as being a VERY large black guy and was shocked to see him be a skinny guy who could dance. |
| I thought they were black too until I clicked the link. I thought the singer looked middle eastern. Looked up the band and yes he's of Palestinian descent. |
oh wow, that's even more interesting |
| When I was planning my wedding many years ago, the DJ's suggested playlist included "blue-eyed soul" as an option. |
What's ur point |
URG, he's so hot. Anyway, I love Sam Smith. He has a song that sounds like old school "gospel house" called Latch. It does sound like a black dude. Iggy Azalea has (really) good songs but honestly her rapping voice is terrible. It's fake and affected and annoying. |
White artists singing in a "black style" is considered a different genre. Are you this dense IRL? |
| Holy shit. I though I was up on pop culture. I've never heard the song in the OP (which is awful BTW). |
He doesn't sound black. He's just singing a style of music that is associated with black people. There's a difference. |
Never thought they were Black or Jamaican. |
| It's rude if you are saying it to a black person because you thought/assume they would know XYZ artist since they are black. |
| y'all think too much |
You sound black. j/k |
