Gift from my step kids to my DH

Anonymous
A picture of the five of you?? The two kids, DH, you and the ex-wife? That's bizarre. And bizarre that you'd prefer that to a picture just of a dad and his kids.

OP, it's not about you. The ex helped her kids, whom she loves, give their dad a nice gift. If you were a mom you might do the same. They probably helped her make the cookies, but it sounds like you are suggesting she made them by herself and sent them along as a reminder of good times gone by. That's silly.

Yes. Sounds like great parenting to me. She's not trying to do anything to you.

Don't be jealous unless she sends DH a picture of herself wearing a bacon bikini.

OP here. Got it loud and clear! I snapped out of it. Thanks for the insight.

Sounds to me like the ex-wife and mother of his children is behaving like an adult. Take a lesson from hr and profit thereby.

I'm going to guess you guys are newly married? If so, I suggest doing some reading on becoming a step mom/ the new wife. It will serve you well and prevent stuff like this happening again. The fact that you even over reacted about this makes it clear you are not comfortable in this new role

I'm confused about why you want the 5 of you in it. That would be you, DH, DC1, DC2, and EX, correct? What is wrong with her taking a picture of him and his kids and then them giving it to him for Father's Day? You better get over your insecurities with the mother of your step children before DH gets over you.

OP gets it now. You can drop the pitchforks and torches.

Agreed. Go easy. Blended families are tough. People make mistakes and have misunderstandings. She's just asking for feedback and hopefully she saw a different side of things. Best wishes to her, because the kids will benefit from healthy relationships all around.

Your post should have been titled "Gift from DH's kids to their dad." You don't seem to get that these are HIS CHILDREN.

I think OP and DH have their own child so it would be OP, DH, steps 1/2 and DC from their marriage. But maybe I misread.
