If I quit my job, we'd be evicted and homeless within 2 months. I am guessing your DH can cover the bills.

Seriously we don't have money but am still happy...had a nagging/micro managing boss just couldn't stand her.

Ah, yes, I had one of those. The kind who wanted me to work until 10pm in the lab when I had just given birth to a special needs preemie.

The relief I felt when leaving that job was... indescribable.

Enjoy, OP.

It just sounds like you weren't cut out for social work. But don't knock the career choice...lots of people are equipped to show compassion and truly help people.

There are social work positions in schools that I think run the school year.

Can I ask the population you worked with, and salary?

NP, but in the SW field, also. Are you?

100% of the positions I have had I have never left because of the individuals I served, but because of getting burned out from the bureaucracy of the organizations I worked for. Paperwork is a big part of the job, as well as overloaded caseloads from colleague turnover, which usually left very little time for working with your clients--you know, the most enjoyable and rewarding part of the job!

The only people who have the luxury of feeling relieved when they quit a job without having another one lined up are those with the economic wherewithal to not worry about paying bills. So consider yourself blessed. The rest of us will buck up and go to work tomorrow despite having to deal with stress.

Good God, some of you are so pathetically jealous.

I'm fully employed, but maybe you are an idiot that you don't manage your finances well, or that you married a loser who can't pull his share.

Thank you so much...my thoughts exactly.
