Eat or Not Before AM Workout?

I think it totally depends on the person. I can't work out on an empty stomach- I'd spend my whole workout thinking about how hungry I was. Banana and WW toast with peanut butter, plus water mixed with sports energized powder. At a minimum.

But probably more important how you're fueling your recovery.

I do a 5:45 boot camp and I've never eaten beforehand. I am hungry on my way there but that disappears once I start working out. After the workout I have coffee and my breakfast, usually fruit with Greek yogurt and a glass of skim milk. If I am going to be running more than 5 or 6 miles I will usually eat an English muffin with some PB. Those runs for me were with a training group that started later so I could have a little something to eat.

Have heard that protein before and after a workout is ideal.

For me, I have tried both and the best workouts are after a couple of pieces of buttered raisin toast and tea with milk, and a trip to the bathroom. Takes time, though.
