+1 for Maple Ave. Market. They have frequent sales, too, so I got on their email list. Everytime the grassfed beef is on sale, we stock up. |

I don't see it at Target. I see meat marked as "natural," but no other indications of what that means. Can you tell me what brand or packaging to look for? We gets ours at Balduccis and while delicious, it's expensive. |

I don't know about Target- but at Wegmans it is in triple one pound packs in the meat section and very easy to find. |

Usually at Whole Foods, but some synagogues in the area also have beef buying clubs that are open to non-members and the meat they sell is touted as organic, grass fed, no hormones, etc.

We've gotta try this. In the meantime, we've been getting Ayrshire or Piedmont ground beef at MOM. For bigger cuts, we go to the guys at the Central Farm Market in Bethesda. (Executive Dr. on Saturdays, Bethesda Elementary on Sundays.) |

If your grass-fed beef is coming from Australia, it was most likely frozen during shipping, so it's not going to be as fresh, tasty, or as environmentally friendly as buying from Polyface farm, or one of the other thoughtful pasture farmers of Virginia. |

Agree. Also check out South Mountain Creamery; they aren't iconic like Polyface, but they are local (near Frederick). You can read about their practices here: http://www.southmountaincreamery.com/pages.php?pageid=9. They've delivered to us for many years, and we really like their beef. |
