Anonymous wrote:Don't know if this counts as girlie or manly, but we were at 8407 Kitchen Bar last weekend and the male waiter recommended the ginger lime martini, which I liked very much:

2 oz vodka
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz ginger syrup

Just tried this last night - yum! Thanks for posting

My favorite girlie drink:

Nuts and Berries

1/2 oz Frangelico® hazelnut liqueur
1/2 oz Chambord® raspberry liqueur
2 oz cream (half & half)

It sounds gross, but it's so delicious.

My favorite manly drink (I guess it's manly; it's whiskey based):

Sazerac

3 ounces rye whiskey
3/4 ounce simple syrup
Peychaud bitters to taste
Absinthe or absinthe substitute
Lemon twist for garnish

Preparation:

Chill an old-fashioned glass.
In a separate mixing glass, muddle the simple syrup and Peychaud bitters together.
Add the rye whiskey to the bitters mixture and stir.
Rinse the chilled glass with absinthe by pouring a small amount into the glass, swirling it around and discarding the liquid.
Strain the whiskey mixture from the mixing glass into the old fashioned glass.
Garnish with a lemon twist.
