I use marshmallow fondant. Easy to make, easy to use, looks amazing, tastes like vanilla. I, too, recommend Cake Central.
The idea of buying a can of store-bought frosting and dumping that on a cake sounds...pretty sad. Just buy a cake if that's your level of effort, PP! |
Pp here with the canned frosting idea - a store bought dairy free and egg free cake is a lot more expensive than what I can do at home. Sorry my cake sounded sad to you - it was delicious for my son! |
I use marshmallow fondant all of the time. It is easy to make and tastes like....marshmallows

I made the marshmallow fondant last year and then had three cake failures (related to the baking, not the fondant). I actually love fondant, but thought the marshmallow kind would be popular. Alas, no one got to try anything.

What is "marshmallow fondant?"

Did you click on the link with the recipe? Fondant made using a marshmallow base. Melted marshmallows + powdered sugar + water + shortening. |

I've made a couple of my kid's b'day cakes with marshmallow fondant. It's awesome.
I use this recipe/technique: http://baking911.com/frosting-icing-etc/fondant/marshmallow-fondant-or-mmf |
