I think she was only divorced once. Her mother and her had been estranged for a long time - apparently her mother was estranged form everyone as no one knew she died for months. According to reports online, her mother was quite toxic and the home Dr Laura grew up in was quite dysfunctional. I just googled her son - don't see any investigation except a TMZ article that he might have been in a picture with a gun in his mouth, but they couldn't confirm it was him.

Haven't heard her in probably 15 years so I looked her up to see what was new. She also stopped being Jewish - no idea what she is now if anything.

They found her elderly mother rotting in her apartment which was located I believe two miles from where Dr. Laura had her radio show. Neighbors complained of a stinch and finally police broke in, she had been dead for days. Estranged, toxic, whatever, no one deserves that and I can't take advice from a woman on how to be a parent and wife in that scenario.

There are hateful recluses out there who want nothing to do with other people. There are kind seniors who interact with others only a few times a week. Someone dying while living alone and not being discovered for days isn't a reflection on poor treatment from family members.

Ok, I'm not a Dr. Laura fan, but labeling her a hypocrite is a common critique that I feel is misleading and unfair. Yes she did "shack up", divorced her first husband, posed nude... but that was all before she developed her current moral code. It is because of her past experiences that she holds the values that she has now. A hypocrite would be a person who still does what she preaches against.
