| Kaya isn't commenting because it's a political matter--that's why it's being run by the DME, not her and not even by OSSE. Her job is to focus on the school system she has and that's what she's doing. If DCPS itself were running this process she would be there. Keep hating, haters. |
Because unlike Kaya Henderson's, you're not paying her salary? Henderson is making pretty decent coin from DC taxpayers. It's hard to see how anything other than self-interest is responsible for her silence on this highly volatile topic. |
|
I heard from a reliable source that Kaya is definitely gone after Grey is done being mayor.
She really doesn't care anymore. She probably has her next job all lined up with one of Rhee's organizations. Abby Smith too. They will follow Rhee and leave a comlicated mess while patting themselves on the back saying that they saved DCPS. |
|
Seems like you all want Henderson to be in favor of one thing and against something else - which is how everyone feels, so how could she improve the situation or come out looking good by commenting?
Most here don't even really like Kaya Henderson (self included) so what would her commentary add? Not much. And why does our culture continue to refer to female public figures mostly by their first names? I don't recall much if any casual reference to Tony or Adrian or Vince. Can we please stop this phenomenon before "Muriel" is in the air? |
| Fine- I very much dislike Bowser. |
As in "Muriel for Mayor" plastered across Bowser's own campaign posters? |
| What's the big deal? I don't get it. Having worked with Rhee and Henderson, I love Kaya. What do you want from the woman? I hear her talking all the time. Are you mad she doesn't come to your house? Damn. I hope she leaves. Other jurisdictions will pay her a lot more. |
| It's unfortunate, but every time I hear or read it I get an image of a young Toni Collette and hear an Aussie-accented voice saying, You're terrible, Muriel in my head. |
|
It is not her job to worry about school boundaries...she has to play yhe hand that she's dealt. Why would it be her albatross when for the past 40 years it has been a no-never-mind burden. School boundaries are more of a political issue than a personnel issue. We elect school board members, council, ANC and Mayor who in turn hire employees. Plain and simple our Chancellor is a hired official and doesn't have a need to be involved.
Hypothetically, it would be similar to having Lindsey Lexus sitting on the relocation panel for the Department of Transportation facility. It will never happen. |
|
Henderson must read DCUM because she showed up at the Dunbar working group today.
|
I'm sorry but what position did Rhee hold when she changed the oob kids to feed by right straight on into Deal and Wilson? Isn't that the reason the boundary changes are needed now? Why doesn't anyone look at that decision in 2009 as a fundamental change to the boundary system and the boundaries in Ward 3? It was. i hope Henderson leaves, but Bowser "call me Muriel but I will not debate Catania) has said she will keep her. Unless she has backed away from that. I predict Henderson and the DME will leave together and land on their feet with Rhee's help. |
I am certain that it is her job to develop innovative ways to improve schools and student performance. Janney for all! |
