| Female lawyers do wear pant suits to court. I certainly do and always have. I also wear pant suits in meetings and my firm and clients are plenty conservative. I recommend the nordstrom personal shopper. |

St. John's *is* your friend as a PP says. Quality consignment shops can also help -- Once is Not Enough and Secondi in DC, Carousel and Ritz in Rockville -- you can also find great stuff on EBay. I've never paid retail for SJK and have been wearing it for 7 years and every piece remains in impeccable (forgiving) condition (when weight fluctuates as it will at our age, well, SJK waistbands are also your friend).
