Anyone else had trouble obtaining records from SGF?

07:52 here - gosh you are in it here! That sucks. Thankfully I have had a great nurse and I do have my RE's direct email address. When I have left messages by phone for him to call me back, I have gotten a call. Do you have any close friends here anymore? Anyone that you would trust to go into the RE's office on maybe their lunch break to ask about this situation for you in person?

Actually, I go in for beta on Monday and I could ask for you if you wanted. I mean I wouldn't be able to give specifics or anything but just in general. Maybe the front desk staff be able to give me a better contact for this type of situation. They must have a patient care advocate or someone of that nature for times like these (unless you've tried that route too).

PP. If you can get Dr. Widra's contact info and post it back, that would be awesome! Thanks!

And yes, I have a friend who is an attorney and well connected that I am going to sic on them if they don't get their shit together.

I got my records from the company just fine but what I needed for my new clinic was the saline sonogram that showed that my uterus was free of pregnancy tissue post-miscarriage. It was not in my records, my nurse was quite snippy insisting that it WAS in there, I told her it was not as I had them right in front of me, she told me that I had done it on X date, I said no, I KNOW when I had my saline sonogram and it was on Y date and in any case there is no notation here that my uterus is clear, she then said to call medical records. . . .

It took many phone calls but I finally reached a nice woman in medical records in Rockville, I started by saying "I hope you can help me because nobody else has been able to and I am looking for a record for a test that I know was done on X date in the DC office." I think her name was Caroline but can't be sure. She agreed to look and called me back to let me know she had found the films of that saline sonogram, and the date of it, which confirmed the date I knew it was done. Then I emailed my doctor, letting him know that my saline sonogram was not in my records but that I had films from it, dated Y, but no diagnosis report. He admitted that he had dropped the ball and added it to my record, and finally the Rockville office sent it to the DC office for me to pick up.

It was a nightmare and took me three weeks to sort out.

Shady Grove seems compassionate if you succeed quickly. Hang around a while, have a miscarriage or two or multiple failures and you see that their business is volume, and it's all about the bottome line.

And their stats, while they may be the best in this region (that's not saying a lot), are not that great.

God I would love to see this done publicly.

They have the capability to be more reasonable, it's not so much harder to do it right than to screw it up that you truly profit from dropping the ball. They get paid more than enough by patients to warrant more conscientiousness than they show.

It took me forever and I had to report them to the state. The records were late and expensive. My new doctor picked out what he needed from the 300 pages they sent me of mostly letter head, request forms, consent form, and useless boiler plate information. The company is called Heathport and their number is 877-595-9900. I never called them, I only sent registered letters. They also didn't bill me, they sent it straight to collections. They are almost as bad as Shady Grove, but birds of a feather.....
Report them to the State and the Feds, under law they have a specific amount of time to respond and provide once you file a request.
