How do you make/take your oatmeal?

Anyone have a slow cooker oatmeal recipe?

I mix oatmeal with cottage cheese. I know, I know, it sounds disgusting, but it's actually quite good! I have it every morning for breakfast.

I eat Starbucks oatmeal every morning. I use the brown sugar, mixed nuts and sprinkle cinnamon on top.

Hot with milk and sugar.

I had some this morning. I add cinnamon, brown sugar, and walnuts. Added banana in the other day for some variety. DH likes raisins and dates in his, but I don't.

I also make an oatmeal "pancake" on occasion. I add hot water to a 2/3 cup of oatmeal to get it well moistened. I then add a whole egg, an egg white, some cinnamon and a little brown sugar. I cook it in a non-stick pan with a little butter and top with fresh fruit. Delicious!

Irish oats cooked 5 mins so thick and chewy. Add some sea salt and half and half, heavy cream, or whole milk. Yum.

I hated all oatmeal until I traveled to Scotland and had oats done this way. I realized that I liked my oatmeal slightly salty, not sweet. And I'd only ever tasted sweetened oatmeal before.

I don't like sweet oatmeal for breakfast, so the most I will add is a tiny bit of banana, peanut butter or cashews and cinnamon. I have also eaten it with a poached egg on top.

Lebanese Taverna had an oatmeal soup one day--was in a chicken broth and really good!

With coconut milk and agave syrup!

My DH makes a batch of oatmeal most weekends that sits in the fridge all week. Mine I microwave then put in brown sugar and raisins. DS gets the same to take to school, usually with a little bit of milk.

But this is giving me some new ideas!

My favorite has dried cherries, a bit of maple syrup, and a bit of brown sugar.
