| We live in MVT and our preschooler goes to ITS. Our close neighbors' kids go to LAMB and CM. |
| We are going to HD Cooke in Adams Morgan, which is part of the downtown/center city working group, I believe. |
| We live near U Street and will be going to Garrison |
| I live by U st and ds was attending Haynes and next year will be attending sws |
| Did you not like haynes? |
We enjoyed it, just think sws will be better. We wasn't planning on staying for middle school years so we decided to try the lottery again and this time he was accepted. There are things I didn't like and things I did like but I guess we will find that at every school. We really want my for the immersion, our younger son is #12 on wl I can see him getting in but I'm not for certain the other will with sibling preference and sws is a better fit for my 4yr old now we think. Only time will tell so we may have 2 kids at 2 different schools. |

Most of the kids we know from the neighborhood (U Street/Logan Circle) go to charter schools. Off the top of my head I can think of kids we know at ITS, MV, Sela, EL Haynes, Cap City, Ross, Garrison, Oyster, Cleveland,& Appletree. I've only met one kid from the neighborhood who goes to private school, personally, but that doesn't mean they're not out there.
But our kid is a bit older. I think this year could be the supply/demand tipping point that sends more kids to DCPS like Garrison, Seaton, Thomson, Francis-Stevens, Marie Reed. |
| 17:56 Ross, Cleveland and Oyster are also DCPS (you listed them above with charters, then only listed some DCPS again - just trying to clarify your lists). |
Correct. Sorry. MOST of the kids we know are are at charters. Some are DCPS. Garrison is also a DCPS FTR. |
Hi! I'm the CM parent! Let's have coffee tomorrow
|
| This year, many more people seem to heading to Garrison, Seaton and Thompson. |
| Francis-Stevens 2 years running and staying for K. |
I'm the downtown MV parent, and we haven't had coffee in forever. Soon? |
Yes! Let's do it. I will email you. Let me add, it's interesting that we are all so easily recognizable. |
