give your easiest dinner recipe that has 5 ingredients or less

Steam:
Chicken or fish -uncooked
vegetables-whatever you like. Carrots, green beans and broccoli seem to dominate-cheapest.
Steaming itself takes about 20 minutes or less.

Stir fry:
Chicken - uncooked or left over
Vegetables - whatever that's available
Rice - cooked/leftover
parmesan cheese

You can do the stir fry with pasta. And add pesto sauce too.

Usually when the rice/pasta is cooking (20min), I'm cutting and stir fry the other stuff. All is done in 30 min. I don't usually add salt but other stuff like garlic, pepper and paprika.

I guess the method you use to cook needs to be fast.

Or you can go the unhealthy way:
Cup of noodles-add water and microwave 3 minutes

Six ingredients I guess. Bone in, skin on chicken breasts. Baby red potatoes, chopped.

Rub mix of lemon zest, butter, oregano, and salt on the chicken. Place chicken on top of potatoes.

Roast at 425.

Google around for various recipes - spices can be more Indian or more middle eastern in nature, depending on your preference. But this is amazing, and it's good either as a main dish or as a side.

Koshary! (In Egypt at least).

It's our go-to Meatless Monday meal.

Awesome thread.

Here's our easiest recipe. Boneless skinless chicken (thighs, breast, leg, whatever). Wash, pat dry. Spray pan. Pour 3/4ths jar BBQ sauce on top. (My kids like the Carolina Gold at TJs). Cover with foil. Bake for 45 min at 350, then take off the foil for another 15 min.

Salmon with lemon, butter, and dill in the oven is really quick and easy too.

Don't flame me but...you boil the gnocchi first, right, and then sautee it? Or, no? I'm thinking of the shelf stable trader joes kind.

Koshary has a tomato sauce + chickpeas and macaroni noodles, right? I make both, koshary is more complicated but also more delicious

1 jar of salsa ( we use mild but can use whatever you like)
2 cups of frozen corn
approx 2 cups of cooked chicken shredded or cut up
shredded cheddar cheese for top.

Drain beans then mix the first 4 ingredients together in a bowl and transfer to casserole dish. Sprinkle however much cheese you want on top. Bake in oven for approx 25 mins.

Delicious, quick, easy, and we all like it. good for leftovers too.

We just had this for dinner last night! One of our favorites.

Anonymous wrote:Zucchini (the round ones work best)
Rice
Cut up and seasoned chicken
Peppers
Little bit of tomato sauce

Mixed cooked rice and cooked chicken with the peppers and tomato sauce. Stuff into zucchini rounds.

Sprinkle with olive oil and sea salt and stick in the oven for 20 min. I also tend to put some cheese on mine to melt in the oven

Where do you find round zucchini? I like stuffed vegetable recipes but I'm not sure I've ever seen these in the grocery store.

Salmon
TJs Soyaki

Pour on, cover and bake at 350. Kids gobble it up.

Yes, a hot tomato sauce. You can add pretty much anything. We do rice, lentils, and chickpeas. But the onions? yum! I need to look up mujadara now...

Ground turkey (or beef, or chicken, or sausage)
Frozen chopped onions
Jar of favorite pasta sauce
Any kind of pasta

Brown the meat and frozen onions (drain it if you are doing beef or sausage, but turkey and chicken usually don't need it). Add the jar of pasta (you can also add italian seasonings or chopped garlic), simmer for 15 minutes. Serve over pasta with a sprinkle of parm cheese.

6 but some are optional...got this from "100 Days of Real Food"

zucchini
onion
pepper
mushrooms
"Emeril's Essence" spice
tortilla
(put in meat if you want)

Sautee it all in a frying pan, put in some pats of butter with the Emeril spice and then mix it all together. Put it in a tortilla.

Thanks for this great thread!

Cook pasta. Cut grape tomatoes, basil, mozzarella and avocado. Mix and serve.

Great thread! I have been struggling with dinners lately (mostly because we are so tired of chicken, rice and pasta )
Our recent favorite:
Boneless skinless chicken breast
pesto
tomato
mozarella cheese

cover chicken in pesto sauce, bake 30 min at 450. slice tomato and cheese, put on top of chicken, bake another 5-10 min until cheese is melted.
