My sister had the middle name Claire 30 years ago and I had the impression it was more common to be Clare or Clara.
Personally, I like Clara best of all. |
|
The only Clare I know is an old man.
I think you should use the more common spelling. |
| I prefer Claire because Clare just looks unfinished to me, although I recognize it is another correct spelling. I think it would be nice to go with the family spelling too. I think I'd just go with whichever one you like better. |
In 2012, Claire was #45, Clare was #727, and Clara was #136. |
| I have a Claire. We are often asked if her name has an I or not. I think either one is fine! |
| Go with Clare. I have the Irish spelling of Carrie (Kerry) and it's really not a big deal to spell it out or deal with it when people use a different spelling. |
| Claire |
| Clare! |
| It's funny, after my daughter, Claire, was born, the Irish relatives asked if we spelled it with the "i" or without. I hadn't even considered "Clare" but think it's lovely too! |
+1. We are always asked how to spell it. Oddly enough, she has several friends named Clare. Go with whatever you like! |
| Claire, you will have to spend the rest of your life explaining it's clare without an I |
| Clare. |
| Claire. |
| I prefer Claire bu I think u should go with the family spelling |
|
Clare is the best least common. I’m a Clare and others in my work place are Claire. It is so annoying when people spell my name with an i.
