We have white cabinets and black granite. Walls are BM glass slipper. Love the wall color.

I hate the black granite. OP rethink the black!!! It shows everything!! You have NO wiggle room it shows EVERYTHING.

21:14 is your granite polished. honed, or antiqued?

I've heard polished black shows everything but the antiqued black is very nice

Benjamin Moore's "Marilyn's Dress"

We have that combo and went with Sherwin Williams' Pavilion Beige on the walls (and red accents). Like it a lot.

21:14 here. It's polished. I bet honed would be much better but not experienced in that. The polished black is beautiful but only when it's totally clean... Which is like 5 minutes a week right after the housekeeper leaves.

This is what we have.

Not really. You still see it in a lot of home magazines. White cabinets are classic.

My black is honed and I was reading this over breakfast. I looked at my counters and couldn't figure out what the other poster was complaining about. My black counters don't show any more or less than the the other counter surfaces in the house.

For all of you posting about being dated....how often to you think/expect people to renovate/update kitchens? If renovated a kitchen in 2005 and used "in style" black granite/white cabinets, do you think/expect that people are updating their kitchens 8 years later?

It is very expensive to replace countertops. Why is everyone suggesting that?
