True

How could you possibly know that? What if we said you were making up your child's "stats" to make some kind of point? Perhaps you're not "legit" either.

My ds had a 138 on verbal portion of Cogat two years ago and is in center. For other reasons we had him tested and got iq score of 114. It is what it is.

This is the first I've heard of the DCUM Legit AAP Mom test.

You are correct, and sexist. I am not an aap mom. I am an aap dad

Hey Daddy- the majority of the people here are moms- thinking it's a mom isn't "sexist."

Are you asking what the IQ was or are you asking whether the screening committee knew what the IQ was?

DC's IQ came back at 124. The screening committee didn't have the information because the WISC was done for other reasons after DC was accepted into AAP.

9:30 - Was your child in pool? Just asking because my DD has same IQ but no in-pool scores and we are not optimistic for AAP this year.

9:30 here. In-pool from NNAT, but not CogAT. GBRS 13. Accepted first round.

Legit or not, I have personally know several kids who are in AAP with 119/120 and I have to say it is frustrating to me but nevertheless just goes to show you the panel isn't basing acceptance on scores alone.

120. Never did get the Cogat score. Accepted, did fine -- all As for years.

+1

I have a 2E kid who scored very high on the COGAT, but scored at 117 FSIQ on the WISC. He has a very spikey profile, with processing speed being especially low. He's a a straight A student, though, and accepted at AAP. I also had a psychologist tell me that he is clearly highly gifted, despite the lower than expected score on the WISC. His teachers also say that he is gifted and I frequently hear "I've never had a kid like this."

Jealous that a kid got in with a score lower than your kid (so isn't a real AAP kid) or jealous that your snowflake didn't get in at all.

Or maybe just insecure that if a kid with a 119 got in, AAP isn't as big a deal as you've made it out to be and your kid isn't all that, after all.
