Do the mayor and chancellor actually understand how dcps kids get to school?

We are a city of transportation and with WMATA announcing they are up and running it is a no-brainer. Also we can't fight for a walkable city and then all of sudden we're saying that the snow is a game-changer. If people are willing to organize and relocate a snowball fight from Dupont Circcle to the Mall then getting to school in the District is not a hardship.

And I wouldn't necessarily feel comfortable taking one when road conditions are hazardous. Some are poorly maintained, and many drivers make unwise driving decisions.

Main roads tend to have been cleared effectively on mornings after, but my compact car has a hard time on some of Upper NW's residential streets, where a film of ice or even slush often remains on parts of plowed roads. Lots of skidding.

You need better tires if you can maneuver through slush with a front wheel drive car. You also can purchase snow and/or ice tires if your driving skills aren't up to par.
