| Good to hear that some public school kids have had success at the competitive privates. I sometimes worry we've missed the boat by not getting DC in for preK or K. |

MCPS child applied to and got accepted at Maret and NCS. Also accepted to Takoma Park Magnet.
Leaning towards Maret for grade 6. |
You know what? If the afore-mentioned didn't offer her a place, then f*** 'em! And if she's OK with Wilson, then she will be fine there. Get her into one of Wilson's academies and she will shine and she will have a better chance at standing out when she applies to college. Plus, you will save loads of cash to devote to her college instead and/or to your own retirement. So please buck up! Your DD will be fine. |
| PGCPS admitted to 1st (and only) choice for 7th. |

A few years back, MCPS applied to NCS, Holton ans Stone Ridge for 6th grade. Got into all 3.
She went to Holton and about 1/2 of the new kids entering that year came from public. Good luck! |
| I have two kids who went from MCPS to public. Easy transition. |
| Private, not public, oops |
| Another rising 9th grade boy from Arlington, applied to three, accepted one, WL one, no news yet from third. |
Congrats! May I ask where your child is going for 7th? We're in PGCo and weighing options for down the road. Thanks! |
| PGCPS admit to NCS & Holton |
Thanks - amazing! Congrats. |

FCPS AAP (rising 7th) accepted at Potomac, Holton, NCS.
FCPS AAP (rising 9th) accepted at the same three. |
| My kid from a JKLM elementary applied to Sidwell and Maret. Accepted to Maret, rejected at Sidwell. Sidwell was the first choice, but I suspect she will really, really like Maret. |
| Kid from charter preK wait listed at GDS, Maret, Sidwell and Beauvoir. sigh. |
There's a really good group of PG County girls at Holton. They get to know each other well taking the bus. I was very worried about distance being a big social barrier for DD at Holton and it hasn't been at all. Both are great schools. Congrats to your daughter! |
