Spinoff: Do you wear bikinis at the beach/pool/etc.

Would you wear a teeny tiny bikini to a family reunion? DH's family has an annual family reunion at a beach. Most of the women wear the TINIEST bikinis to this! Does anyone else think that's weird? I am not in bikini shape right now, but when I was, I did not wear skimpy bikinis around relatives. I would either wear a one piece or an athletic-style two piece, which has more coverage and support. i think a lot of the women are competitive with each other so they are trying to compete for the fittest cousin award. I don't know.

If you have the body for it and it makes you feel good, why not? Everyone eventually gets old and starts to sag, so while you got it, go for it!

No, I would not do it, I do not have the body for a string bikini. If I did? Hell yes!

Yes. I'm 5'6" 120 lbs. I'm a DDD on too and a 2-4 on the bottom. One pieces don't fit me correctly.

Yes. Also one pieces and rash guards. I am 41, 100lbs at 5'2" but flat chested. I hate my stumpy body.

But there was a time when I would have worn a teeny bikini to the beach and maybe to the pool, no problem. To a family reunion? No.

Yes to the pool/beach with friends and family. No to family reunion. I have a very modest one piece for that. I am very confident in my skin, but something about my entire family seeing my entire body freaks me out.

I hate bikinis -- not just wearing them, but I hate seeing people in bikinis, no matter how fit. I also hate seeing men in speedos.

I wish it were standard for women to wear bathing suits with a skirt and men to where shorts. I don't need to see anywhere close to someone's crotch area.

I'm also tired of this notion that the closer to naked you are willing to go in public, the more "confident" you are. I think we put far too much emphasis on body parts when we talk about confidence.

I used to like tanning in my bikini and that was really the main reason that I wore one. I just thought that tanned skin looks nice.

Depends where and for what reason. I do not wear a bikini when I am at the beach/boat/pool with my in-laws, my parents, at a public pool with my children in the city (on vacation yes) or at some family friends homes. I will just about anywhere else. DH can't undstand why I am such a prude about it but I just feel there is a time and a place for everything and walking around in a bar and panties in front of my father/FIL/MIL/DC's friends fathe/mother I don't really know just doesnt feel comfortable. I do howev have very stylish one pieces not the speedo stuff.
