| International bureaucrats, high-dollar prostitutes, lawyers, bankers, tavern-wenches-turned good, dentists, sahms, that kind of person. |
| If your price point is up to 1.2 you had better be prepared.... Most of the houses in AU Park that go up for sale in that price range are under contract within a week with multiple offers. You need to be READY to go if you seriously want to get a house. |
Right, but then OP said they were going private specifically because of a lack of diversity at the good public schools. Murch has a substantially more diverse population than, say, Janney, if it matters. |
even public middle school and high school? |
| In AU Park - knowing what I know now I would have selected IB for Murch. Janney is a cult. |
|
I think it depends on the street. In our immediate area kids are at private, charter, parochial and Janney. We are planning to go private.
AU Park is great. We can walk places. Neighbors are friendly. |
The middle school is quite good. |
| Love it here. We have great neighbors, lots of small kids the same age as ours, and a great little house. We are looking forward to Janney and beyond. |
Believe it or not--many of us in upper NW are actually *excited* to send our kids to Deal and Wilson. |
| And nothing beats Turtle Park. |
| OP, we live in CC DC and our kids go to Murch. we are very happy with the area, with the school, and are planning to go public all the way. Murch is more diverse than Janney, both my kids have AA classmates, and classmates from mixed white/AA families. you may want to consider this area too (which borders with the area zoned for Janney) |

but teeny, tiny lots...
who wants the downside of all that density without the upside of city amenities? Know that everyone will jump in about how fabulous it is, but really - it's a bubble. |
OK, you've drunk the kool-aid. I do not get the love of this park. |
and now for some popcorn. Livingston vs. turtle....

| Kool-aid? That expression is so outdated. |
